IT equipment testing

Electrical testing for office IT equipment.

Plan testing around your workstations, peripherals and IT support arrangements. We help identify what can be handled as routine office testing and what needs an approved change window.

Suitable routine equipment

Desktops, monitors, printers, accessible power leads and suitable plug-in peripherals can often be scheduled with office testing. Devices and detachable leads may count as separate items when separately tested. Final methods and scope are confirmed before work.

Included

  • Desktop computers and laptop power supplies
  • Monitors and docking stations
  • Printers and scanners
  • Accessible power leads and power boards
  • Suitable plug-in peripherals

Not included

  • Servers, storage, network switches and UPS units (separate review)
  • Cybersecurity audits or hardware health checks
  • Data backup verification or performance testing
  • Any promise that powered systems can be tested without downtime

Coordinate with your IT support

Tell your IT provider which workstations will be affected. Arrange saved work, authorised shutdowns and a nominated person to confirm equipment is working after reconnection.

We do not need your passwords and will not ask you to put credentials into the quote form.

Business-critical equipment takes another route

Network switches, storage systems, servers, UPS units and equipment supporting important services require dependency and interruption review. Even a small network device may be critical.

Do not assume it can be unplugged safely because it looks like ordinary office equipment.

How it works

  1. Make the equipment list clear

Send an approximate count, location and whether any devices support shared services.

  2. Confirm the right route

We confirm whether standard office pricing or a separately scoped plan is appropriate.

  3. Test and reconnect

Agreed equipment is tested in sequence; your nominated contact confirms it is working afterwards.

What you receive

Receive electrical testing results and asset records for the agreed equipment.

A test result is not a cybersecurity audit, hardware health check, data backup verification or performance test.

Records include

  • PDF summary with scope, visit date and result totals
  • CSV asset register you can open in a spreadsheet
  • Failed, deferred, inaccessible and excluded items listed clearly
  • Follow-up actions for exceptions

Pricing basis

Routine workstations and peripherals use the office per-item rates, from NZ$6.00 down to NZ$4.50 per item with a NZ$150 minimum visit. Business-critical equipment is quoted separately by time; office per-item prices do not apply to it.

NZD, excluding GST; GST-inclusive quote supplied. Proposed launch prices; a written quote confirms scope, travel, timing and the final total.

Common questions

How often should equipment be tested?

There is no single interval for every workplace. Equipment type, use, environment and relevant requirements affect the plan. We discuss this when agreeing your scope.

Will equipment need to be turned off?

Some inspection and testing requires disconnection. We agree access and interruptions before the visit. Live servers and UPS systems may need a maintenance window or be deferred.

What happens if an item fails?

We record the result and notify your contact so the item can be removed from use. Repairs are outside this service and require an appropriately authorised provider.

Can you work with our MSP?

Yes, by arrangement. Your nominated IT contact approves the shutdown and restoration plan, and confirms service health after the agreed work.
